Proud Dad moment

Post by Gherner84 » November 11th, 2022, 10:00 pm

I decided to take my oldest daughter who’s 11 out behind our house tonight. We have a makeshift blind out of stacks of cut wood about 60 yds behind the house and deer have been frequenting the area in daylight the last few days. We went out about 445 and within ten minutes the cough I’ve been fighting this week was too much and asked if she wanted to stay out while I watched from the house. So I gave her my phone left her to sit. At 530 she had a doe walk quick past her at about 5 yds! She couldn’t get a shot and waited a couple minutes and another doe came out. Finally at 540 she took a shot at 25yds and stuck a big doe right through the heart. Her first mostly solo deer hunt and first one with the crossbow. It only went about 50yds. I think she’s hooked for life now.
