The House Government Operations Committee will be having a hearing next week on Sept 17 (not officially posted yet), and House Bill 4687 is set to be on the agenda. This bill sponsored by Rep. Hoitenga and repeals the Natural Resources Commission's decision to ban baiting and feeding of white-tail deer.
Regardless of your stance on baiting, we as sportsmen and sportswomen need to stand up against legislation that dictates wildlife management. This authority should be solely vested in the Natural Resources Committee. We urge you to defend proposal G and attend the hearing, and a posting should be up this week with more details. If you are unable to attend but would like for MUCC to submit a card in opposition on your behalf, please email me your name and organization.
