Where oh where have the walleye gone

It's time to ask. Where in your opinion is my best bet for this weekend? The Titt has been REALLY low for a month, other than the current small rise, and me thinks they may have been forced back down to at least the Saginaw river. Last year I was skunked but just down river a few miles the Capt. (I think) limited out. The bay would be ok but I can't get out unless wind cooperates. If you can help me be the hero for all my guests coming to fish I'd be grateful.

Gator. I'm a tad confused what your calling LOW water levels on the Tittabawassee. If the Tibb is flowing at say 4,000 CFPS, that puts it at the top of the Gordonville Ramp and what I still consider high. For me the optimum water flow for fishing the Tibb is between 1,500 and 2,000 CFPS. It has not been in that low range for weeks AND WEEKS. IN FACT it was at 10,500 less then a week ago. Here's where the gage is at today below. With these high water marks and the colder sustained spring temps, I fully expect this season to hold fishable numbers in the river system well into late May. And I recall that day on the Tibb your talking about. It was at least 10 days after the opener last year and the water flow was about 1,600 CFPS and we did limit out. I even went back a week later and we caught 7 more dandy's.

I thought after the closing of the season the water had gone way down to summer time levels and read somewhere the DNR was concerned about the walleye spawn due to low level. I didn't think it came back above normal until last Tuesday when snow/sleet started to melt. I was hoping you'd reply and will stick to taking company to the Titt (yuck) in the hopes we catch a few. Maybe I'll float downstream past Mapleton and look for some holes with fish. Thanks for reply and good luck if you go and fight the crowds.
