That's pretty funny. Last month in the rim canal of Lake Okeechobee we watched the wading birds find a mussel in knee deep (to them) water then take it to a rock and start hammering it to bust it open. I suspect the bird in Fred's video was trying to do the same.

Never thought of that, Jerry. Maybe the bird (nor me) is as smart as I thought, and is just acting on instinct. Kinda fun to think he might be, though.

When are you heading back north? Hope to see you and Cynthia again at OA, this summer.

Not coming back until May. Meanwhile enjoying the warm southern climate and culture on the Gulf in AL. Pompano are starting to come in more regularly, along with the usual Whiting.
