Great start and finish to my season

Just the short version of the story. Hunted all bow season and saw lots of bucks, but always just out of range. Opening morning of rifle season the first buck stands up from his bed 140yds out and I dropped him with my 6.5 Grendel AR then a few minutes later I dropped the doe at about the same dista...

Re: Three Presidents

That’s a great history lesson this millennial never heard in school. Unfortunate we didn’t learn from our mistakes and build a wall with a proper path to citizenship back in the 60’s. I don’t have a problem with people coming in. It’s the illegal way they do it that really pisses me off.

Re: Say hello to my little friend.

I believe in having enough means of defense for all the able bodied people in my family. Also enough for a few close friends should poop hit the fan and they end up in same hole as me. I’ve been in more of an ammo acquisition mode of late but there was some good stuff released at Shot Show in Vegas ...

Proud Dad moment

I decided to take my oldest daughter who’s 11 out behind our house tonight. We have a makeshift blind out of stacks of cut wood about 60 yds behind the house and deer have been frequenting the area in daylight the last few days. We went out about 445 and within ten minutes the cough I’ve been fighti...

Re: Well, it's over.

I voted at a new polling place this year since I moved out of town last fall and I must say what I saw there wasn’t encouraging. Mind you this is a rural area of Gladwin county. When I walked in there were 3 booths to vote at and all 3 were occupied but there was no one in line waiting. I got my bal...

The best and worst of deer hunting.

I know there’s a hunting category for hunting stories but I figured with the lack of posts lately I’d share this here so maybe a few more of our board members could see and read about the downs and ups of deer hunting. Capt. I’m sure you’ll read this and if you feel compelled to move it to the hunti...

Alarm clock Turkeys

I didn’t realize there aren’t usually any leftover spring turkey licenses for Gladwin county. I’ll be sure to apply next year. Besides being delicious turkeys also make a good alarm clock when they gobble less than 15 ft from you when you’re sleeping in on a Sunday. 679AAFCB-3AC6-4CFB-9A37-959803A5A...

Green laser/light vertical grip for AR15

I have a crimson trace green laser plus flashlight vertical grip I’d like to sell. Works great just not what I prefer on my AR. These things are discontinued but look around and pricing was minimum 400 up to 500 dollars plus for these. It attaches to any picatinny rail. I’d take 300 for this one. It...

Re: Pistol optic opinion from an “average joe”

That’s some good stuff there capt. I have a 30-40 Krag that came to me from my grandfather. Killed my first deer with it over 20yrs ago. Still have the original military issued sling for it if only my dad and uncle hadn’t lost the bayonet. Also have a stevens “crack shot” single shot 22 with a 3 dig...

Re: Pistol optic opinion from an “average joe”

Capt I just got my first AR put together. Did it the easy way just bought a complete lower locally then ordered a complete upper online. Cost less than 800 total with the sights and upgrades and looks pretty nice. Shot it today for the first time too. Cheap bushnell red dot was enough to keep hammer...

Pistol optic opinion from an “average joe”

I’ve never shot a pistol with an optic on it before today. I’ve shot several thousand rounds through various pistols but never had anything above mediocre accuracy despite my best efforts. So I bought a Holosun 507c x2 with the Vulcan reticle and it arrived today. I put it on a Glock 19 size ghost g...

I’ve reduced the price to $2500 obo. I won’t lower it again. If it doesn’t sell I’ll be fishing with it this weekend. Thanks for looking.

A little 9mm and 45acp and lots of 25-06 brass

I have about 150rds of once fired 9mm brass, 200rds of 45acp brass and 200rds of 2506 brass. I’d really like to get rid of the whole lot at once. $50 bucks and you can have it. Mostly pretty clean stuff not public range scrap junk. I live in midland and could meet anyone interested at the police dep...

16ft Meyer with 20hp johnson $2900

Decided to sell my boat as the family has outgrown it. It‘s a 1991 Meyer with a 20hp 1972 Johnson long shaft. Starts with just a couple pulls and comes with some spare carb parts and plugs plus gas tank and hose. Also included is a like new 55lb minnkota max 12v and battery that really pushes this b...
