The Greatest Contrast

The past two weeks I watched the TV documentary on Jim Jones and Jonestown, that tragedy that resulted in the deaths of 918 people in the jungles of Guyana back in 1978. Within a couple of days, the whole world was shocked to see the images of the bodies of men, women and children piled around the "...

Re: Bird Discovers a New Toy

That's pretty funny. Last month in the rim canal of Lake Okeechobee we watched the wading birds find a mussel in knee deep (to them) water then take it to a rock and start hammering it to bust it open. I suspect the bird in Fred's video was trying to do the same.

Re: Surprise!

My son once caught a Mallard on a rod he had sat aside. We were fishing perch on a pier, started out with 2 rods, but could only keep up with one. The one he set aside still had a minnow on it which was grabbed by the duck. When my son picked up the rod, the duck took off, but was flying a circle ar...

Re: MICHIGAN HOUSE BILL No. 4362

Apparently, the bill didn't get written up as intended by its author. He actually wanted to expand the boating hours on all inland lakes. Currently, some lake associations with public access have made stricter rules to prevent boating activities from (for example) 6:30 pm to 10 am. The bill is suppo...

You've got to wonder what he thought was going to happen.
Of course, maybe he was used to his mama saying, "I ain't gonna tell you again." 20 times and never doing anything. 🤔

Score on Tasty Whitetail

Well, I just put a fat spike in my rv freezer, pretty much filling it for the trip south for the winter. Still have a few meals of walleye from the Bay and some gills from St Helens as well. Plan to be catching fish from the Gulf coast in a couple of weeks. Hope y'all have a great winter and keep yo...

Re: Why Did God write a Book?

Wow! Sorry it took me so long to reply here. I have been busy working on another project and just didn't check into this forum for a while. Dan, that's an excellent article. Based on just this article, that's probably a good website to use as a resource, though I haven't checked it out further yet. ...

Re: The Case - Part 2

You're right, Dan. It's difficult to imagine that so-called intelligent minds could embrace the idea that everything came from nothing - which then exploded and became everything. The only reasonable explanation for this kind of thinking is also found in the Bible. In Romans 1:18-22 this very though...

The Case - Part 2

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness….” (2 Tim. 3:16). Over 3,000 times, in some form or another, the Bible’s authors claimed to be speaking for God. Jesus also testified to this many times, attri...

The Case for a Perfectly Good Book

As I have had opportunity to do a bit of traveling since my retirement, I have also had opportunity to rub shoulders with more people whom I have never met. One of the things I have noticed is that when I seek to engage them in a discussion of spiritual things, many are quick to reject the idea that...

Sounds like Fred and I were in the service at the same time (62-65). I also was trained on the M-1, but used an M-14 in a tournament (which we knew nothing about until we got off the bus at the range). This was in France where I served for 2 years as a communications technician. We competed against ...
