Re: Now it Starts....

In my own condemnation of those human things I see other people think, do, say and ultimately act apon. Those things that some people socially and culturally seek to change involving the way we all live and survive freely, under a document like non other on this planet. I think back, realize and rem...

Re: So what the "F" is going on this year?

I feel like the dams breaking in the spring would have played a large part due to the sediment flow. The effects may take years to fully develop. Cap't Dan, is it possible that the sudden rush of water could have carved out the channel deeper or is it just the high water? Oh its the higher water fo...

Re: So what the "F" is going on this year?

One of my first thoughts on this matter, was the recent removal of the close to constant Hot Ponds warm water discharge. Those mostly always warmer waters, always attracted and kept the multitude of shad, alewives and hoards of smaller baitfish of all kinds near the river mouth, even long before the...

So what the "F" is going on this year?

I could simply blame this weird fall river run walleye migration, or lac there of on 2020. But doing so goes against my "Everything happens for a reason" life long fishing theories and conclusions. I tried fishing the river a couple weeks ago. I trolled and jigged with zero results. We marked a ton ...

Re: Joe Biden

I'm not surprised. Joe was probably taking money from somebody even back then for his vote or support. I remember the evacuation scenes vividly on the nightly news, when reporters and news networks still hid their own agenda's. Perfectly good Planes and helicopters filled with people being purposely...

New Reg's are good news.

I've attended the last 2 Lake Huron Citizens Fishery Advisory Committee meeting Via Zoom internet connections and have some good news for perch and sucker fishermen concerning snelled hooks used with either beads or spinners on them. Using those of course could have qualified you for a ticket if che...

2 good friends of mine dead in 3 days. Nels Larsen, the driving force behind the beginning of Walleyes for Warrior has past away. Nels long/long battle with the debilitating poison Agent Orange (a Vietnam used defoliant) that he contacted in Vietnam during his tour of duty, finally came to an end. H...

Now 2020 officially sucks.

Not officially about fishing but to me it is. I've outlived an official Rock God and I'm not to sure how happy I am about that. Eddy Van Halen born Jan 26, 1955 died today. His music kept me both adrenalin pumped and awake, on those long trips across the state to run charters after sometimes 10 hour...

To sweep this under the rug would insinuate that Epstein did indeed hang himself and the Clinton convenient death toll of 28 possible litigants against them is indeed convenient. It smells alright.

Re: Its good to be remembered.

Yup....and its the rare times like these, that somebody as old as Tony Enselaco remembers his short but memorable visit with me on the river, that I cherish most. It was never about being famous so much to Me, as it was about being appreciated and respected as a good fisherman. It was actually Tony'...

I bought in 1986 what was then this State's 3rd Dory Style Drift Boat to be sold and started using it that same year to guide with on a few of our State's best rivers for both Steelehead's and Salmon, under the name "Steelie Dan's River Charters". I bought it from Holsinger's Manufacturing in Kawkaw...

Re: Antlerless deer licenses just $5 for northeastern Lower Peninsula hunters

I hunted and have taken some nice deer in the bovine area for a few years. It has a lot of private ground and is close to my buddies place near Black Lake, where through his generosity I'd stay while hunting. Been hunting closer to home the last couple on my other buddies private place in Midland co...
