Yooper for the Summer

Well, I'm back from Alabammy until November.
Had a pretty scanty fishing season down there last winter with many days of high seas and a lot of rip tide (I fish the surf in the Gulf when there). Just when it seemed like the weather was starting to cooperate, they shut down the beaches. eusa_think
Had been anticipating some fresh Walleye from the Bay about now, but the parks are closed to camping, and we are full-time RVers.
I am currently parked in the side yard of a friend in the Lake City area.
BUT - starting June 1, I will be assuming the position of Interim Pastor at a church in Stephenson, Mi, which is about as close as you can get to Wisconsin without being a Chresehead. :grin: It's possible that we will be there until we leave again near the end of October - God knows.
So - I guess we'll be checking out the fishing up/over there (you know the boat will be tagging along behind our 5th wheel). If any of y'all know any good spots in that neck of the woods, give me a jingle.
Meanwhile, I will be available for questions or comments from any and all.
Been in a boat since I was 6 months old.

Welcome back, Jerry and Cynthia. Probably won't see you this summer, if you're heading for the UP. Have a good summer, though. Maybe next year. BTW, my sister lives in Lake City, on a point on the north end of Lake Missaukee.

Actually, I gave my banjo to a granddaughter when we sold our house. Still have my guitar, though. 🎸

Lake gogebic, or how ever you spell it. Lots of walleye, and perch to be had.

If you're near Ontonagon, look up Al Trainer in the local phone book. He knows where the walleye are hidin'.
As for Lake Gogebic: Lots of eater sized 'eyes, and big perch. I've had my best luck with slip bobber and leeches on a small marabou jig - enough weight to tip the bobber upright - but not too much - about 18 inches above the jig.
